3 Senses to consider in Interior Design

Interior design isn’t just about how things look but how they FEEL.

Pay special attention to:

👁️ SIGHT

- Soft lighting, particularly when it comes to your bedroom and encouraging healthy sleep habits.

- Colours that will stimulate or unwind. Read this blog post for more on Colour Psychology.

- Spacial awareness and placing furniture in a way that flows and looks inviting to the eye.

👉🏼 TOUCH

- Comfortable seating in the right places. This might mean incorporating seating at the entrance for putting shoes on easily, choosing a comfortable sofa for movie nights.

- Textures are not to be forgotten about. Layering with rugs, blankets and cushions will add warmth and comfort to a space.

👃🏼 SMELL

- Smell is a powerful tool and it is important to understand the effect of scents when it comes to sleep spaces and living spaces. For example, citrus based are great in the kitchen, and lavender is sleep inducing so ideal in your bedroom.

- Home fragrance in the form of diffusers and room sprays are a safe way to get evenly distributed scent throughout the day.

- Candles are also great but I am weary about flames that you have to keep a close eye on them.
